MAY 2009

We are delighted to announce a very special month long campaign in May to highlight the great wines of New Zealand and how they compliment the Michelin Star food of The Harrow. Roger will be tantalizing and teasing your taste buds with an array of early summer dishes matched with the very finest wines from New Zealand.
We will be offering wines from across the board from the extremely easy drinking good value Pinot Gris, perfect with Asian influenced dishes to world class sought after Pinot Noirs from Craggy Range and Felton Road. The recently highly acclaimed Cabernet Merlots from Hawkes Bay will be matched with young milk fed Welsh Lamb, whilst the sexy Syrah grape will be matched with Llanllwni Hillside Duck with aniseed.
‘The Harrow at Little Bedwyn lists over 80 New Zealand Wines on their Award wining Wine List, making it one of the most comprehensive in the UK. I am delighted that Roger & Sue and the team at The Harrow have agreed to join NZ Winegrowers in this campaign. From personal experience I can certainly highlight the food and wine matching experience that they offer’
Warren Adamson, Director of New Zealand Winegrowers.

EXCLUSIVE LUNCH AND WINE RELEASE
Woodlands, Margaret River, Western Australia
Wednesday 3rd September 2008
The Harrow at Little Bedwyn
Woodlands is not a new name, as this was one of the first five vineyards to be planted in Margaret River in 1973, and during the 80`s had been a regular medal winner, including a National Trophy for their 1981 Andrew Cabernet. The 1990’s saw all the fruit sold to other leading wine makers. However in 1999 Stuart Watson began making the wine at his parents’ vineyard.
The whole family share a passion for the wines of Bordeaux and it is that that inspires the focus here on Cabernet Sauvignon and it has certainly not taken long to put Woodlands back on the competitive radar with trophies in 2005 and 2006 at the Margaret River Wine Show, the Winewise Australian Small Vignerons Awards, and the Boutique Wine Awards.
Winemaking is minimalist with an emphasis on small open fermentation and excellent barrel selection. The winery is rated as 5 stars by James Halliday, Australia’s leading wine critic.
It production is sold out every year on release, but we are delighted to have secured a small allocation for our customers, plus Andrew and Stewart Watson will be hosting the lunch and a pre lunch tasting of some historic aged wines.
Tasting from 12 noon
Lunch 1p.m.
Cost £75.00 per person

CLARENDON ASTRALIS
TASTING & GOURMET DINNER
Thursday 22nd May 2008
Hosted by Alex Bratasiuk
(Son of Roman, Head of marketing and future Head winemaker!)
Clarendon Hills Astralis, the story
Named "2001 Wine Personality of the Year in Austalia" by Robert Parker, Roman Bratasiuk has been at the forefront of winemaking in Australia since 1990. Located in McLaren Vale, South Australia, his winery produces only 800 to 1000 cases from each of his 16 single vineyards planted with the oldest vines of Grenache, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon aged between 70 to 100 years.
Robert Parker: “Roman Bratasiuk is one of Planet Earth's greatest winemakers and obviously a top-notch viticulturist given his obsession with sourcing extraordinary fruit from ancient McLaren Vale vineyards. If Penfolds Grange has been the most legendary wine in Australia, my instincts suggest that in the future, if any winery surpasses Grange, it will be made by Roman Bratasiuk of Clarendon Hills in McLaren Vale.
